Sanitary napkin incinerator machines are designed around a simple operating principle: place the used napkin into the incineration chamber, close it, and start the burn cycle — usually with a single press-button action. From there, the machine takes over automatically.
The used napkin is placed into the chamber through a small, purpose-built opening, and the chamber is sealed before the cycle starts.
The chamber heats up and the napkin is burned down to ash over a defined cycle time — commonly in the range of 8 to 30 minutes depending on the machine's capacity and design. Higher-capacity machines generally use longer cycle times to fully process a larger volume.
Once the cycle is complete, the machine cuts off automatically. Depending on the model, this cutoff is controlled by a timer, a temperature sensor, or both — reducing the chance of the unit being left running unattended.
Fumes generated during the burn are routed out of the room through an exhaust pipe (commonly a 2" or 3" flexible hose, depending on machine size), rather than being released into the washroom itself.
